Yop is also suitable for vegetarians.
And made with live yogurt cultures.
Fresh milk is delivered
daily straight from the farm.
The milk is standardised and
heated to 90 degree c for a few minutes, we
call this pasteurisation. It kills any harmful
bacteria that may be in the milk.
The milk is then cooled
down to 45 degree c and placed in incubation
tanks.
The friendly bacteria
are now added and left to multiply. The bacteria
convert the naturally occurring lactose in
the milk into lactic acid.
Fermentation takes place
and that’s when the milk, thanks to the action of the lactic acid, is transformed into a drinking yogurt.
Our quality control personnel
then check the level of the pH in the product and when it reaches the right level of acidity the product is ready!
The drinking yogurt drink is then
cooled to prevent the bacteria from growing
anymore. That’s when we start mixing in different flavours and pack the product in it’s bottle.
